Do You Feel Old?
I remember a time, not so long ago, when I felt like a technology wiz. I was up on all the l astest software (word, excel, powerpoint)! and email... boy!I could whip them out, and even add attachments and scans! That was five minutes ago, or so it seems. And now look, I'm a dinosaur and need to have my 14 year old son or my 12 year old students roll their eyes when I ask them how to do something. I wonder if I did that five minutes ago. Oh shoot. I just blinked and now there's one more thing out there I don't know how to do! Mercy me. How's everyone else feeling out there in bloggerville?

I feel the same way...Change is happening too fast and I discover new tools almost daily. How ever I have to pick the right ones for the right task to suite my needs.

I feel very old. Everything was fine in my little world. I knew there was a huge different world out there, but I did not feel that I needed those things in my life. I see now that I do need "those things" to keep up with my students at school. I am amazed at what they know. If I can just learn a little each day...
ReplyDeleteAnn, I am in totaly awe of these kids and how fast they pick up all this technology--My girls are not in the same house--so I miss asking them
ReplyDeleteDitto . Do people still say that or does that reveal my age ?
ReplyDeleteTrying to keep up with the latest technological discovery can be overpowering but exciting at the same time. It helps us stay mentally alert, and makes the task of reaching our students a lot easier !
I couldn't agree more. I remember being in our District's first internet class around 1992. Also, I was one of the first teachers to graduate to the "MOUSE" computers ... playing solitaire until I learned how to maneuver. My how times have changed, and do I ever feel outdated!
